About this role
This is a full-time, remote role for a U.S.-based custom window fabrication company that works on residential projects. You will independently manage the technical design and estimation workflow, from interpreting architectural plans through LogiKal design, supplier documentation, takeoffs, estimation packaging and shop drawings, and you will work with the internal project, estimating, design and supplier teams. This is a technically demanding role that requires advanced, demonstrable proficiency in Orgadata LogiKal; AutoCAD is mandatory for shop drawings, and Revit is a plus for BIM coordination projects. You will need to provide a portfolio of actual LogiKal project work. Compensation is based on experience, LogiKal proficiency and the quality of your demonstrated window design and fabrication work.
What you’ll do
- Review and interpret architectural floor plans, elevations, schedules and sections to identify window locations, dimensions and configurations
- Prepare window takeoffs from architectural floor plans
- Design custom residential aluminum window systems in Orgadata LogiKal
- Build accurate window positions and cross-sections in LogiKal
- Generate and export LOB files from LogiKal for supplier pricing
- Coordinate with suppliers on technical requirements
- Prepare complete estimation and pricing packages
- Create fabrication-ready shop drawings in AutoCAD
- Identify design inconsistencies or missing information before they become fabrication issues
- Communicate clearly with U.S.-based clients, suppliers and internal project, estimating and design teams
What we’re looking for
- Advanced, hands-on Orgadata LogiKal proficiency (mandatory; familiarity alone is not enough)
- Window system design in LogiKal, including positions and cross-sections
- LOB file generation and export from LogiKal
- Strong AutoCAD proficiency for shop drawings (mandatory)
- Aluminum window system knowledge: profiles, glazing, hardware and configurations
- Aluprof or comparable aluminum window system experience
- Window takeoffs from architectural floor plans
- Project estimation and pricing workflows
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings: elevations, sections, schedules and details
- Extensive hands-on LogiKal experience in real-world window design and fabrication workflows, with demonstrated experience in takeoffs, estimation and supplier documentation
- A portfolio of actual LogiKal work: window positions, cross-sections, LOB file examples, shop drawing samples and estimation or takeoff examples
- Strong written and spoken English
- Ability to work full-time during New York / U.S. business hours, Monday to Friday
Nice to have
- Direct experience with Aluprof window systems
- Experience on U.S. residential construction projects (New York / New Jersey)
- Revit proficiency for BIM coordination
- Advanced shop drawing experience
- Experience working with window manufacturers, fabricators or aluminum system suppliers
- Knowledge of U.S. architectural and construction documentation standards
- Custom residential window fabrication project experience
