MEP Engineer/Drafter - HVAC, Plumbing & Sprinkler

RemoteFull-TimeU.S. business hours

This is an engineering role, not a drafting-only role. You will design HVAC, plumbing and sprinkler systems for U.S. residential and commercial projects yourself, run the heating, cooling and hydraulic calculations, select the equipment, and produce the construction drawings, schedules and risers in AutoCAD and Revit. Direct U.S. project experience, working knowledge of U.S. building and MEP codes, and HAP or similar load calculation software are mandatory. If your experience is drafting from markups, or you have not worked on U.S. projects, this role is likely not a fit.

Remote, full-time MEP engineer based in India for U.S. residential and commercial projects: design HVAC, plumbing and sprinkler systems, run load and hydraulic calculations, select equipment and produce the construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit.

About this role

This is a full-time, remote engineering role based in India, working on U.S. residential and commercial projects. It is not a drafting-only role. You will own projects from initial design through detailed construction documentation: heating and cooling load calculations, hydraulic calculations, equipment selection, and the MEP drawings, layouts, schedules and risers in AutoCAD and Revit. You must have direct U.S. project experience and a strong working knowledge of U.S. building and MEP codes, so that you can contribute with minimal onboarding. You will coordinate with the architectural and structural design and join design review calls over Zoom with the U.S. team and clients, where you explain your design decisions and technical approach clearly.

What you’ll do

  • Design HVAC, plumbing and sprinkler / fire protection systems for U.S. residential and commercial projects
  • Own projects from initial design through detailed construction documentation
  • Run heating and cooling load calculations in HAP or similar software

  • Select and schedule equipment
  • Produce MEP construction drawings, layouts, schedules and risers in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Design to U.S. building and MEP codes and standards
  • Coordinate MEP design with the architectural and structural systems
  • Join design review calls over Zoom with the U.S. team and clients, and explain design decisions and technical approaches clearly

  • Working knowledge of U.S. building and MEP codes and standards
  • Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Strong written English
  • Experienced MEP professional able to own design through documentation, not drafting only

Nice to have

  • Experience coordinating MEP designs with architectural and structural teams
  • Ability to explain and defend design decisions in technical reviews
