About this role
You'll negotiate directly with banks, lenders, collections departments, and creditor attorneys to settle business debt — securing reduced payoffs, principal reductions, and restructured terms on business loans, credit card debt, merchant cash advances, and commercial debt. This is a specialist negotiation role: you open the conversation, work the counteroffers, handle legal pushback, and close resolutions that protect the borrower. It is not a collections or customer service role — proven hands-on settlement negotiation experience is required.
What you’ll do
- Negotiate lump-sum and structured settlements directly with banks, lenders, and creditors.
- Open with a hardship-based position and work counteroffers down to a resolved payoff.
- Handle pushback and legal threats from creditor attorneys and law firms.
- Leverage financial hardship documentation and time-value framing to move counterparties.
- Work business loans, credit card debt, MCAs, and commercial debt files end to end.
- Track offers, counters, and settled outcomes accurately.
What we’re looking for
- Proven hands-on experience negotiating debt settlements directly with banks, lenders, creditors, or attorneys.
- A track record of securing reduced payoffs, principal reductions, or restructured terms.
- Experience across business loans, credit card debt, MCAs, or commercial debt.
- Fluent, clear, professional spoken and written English.
- Willingness to work full-time U.S. business hours.
Nice to have
- Experience negotiating with creditor attorneys and handling attorney-managed debt files.
- Experience with SBA loans or commercial lines of credit.
- Familiarity with debt settlement platforms (DebtPayPro, Forth) or a CRM (Salesforce, HubSpot).
